Let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near (Hebrews 10: 24-25).
Naomi mourned and rejoiced with Ruth. David sharpened spears with Jonathan. Paul labored alongside Barnabas and Timothy. C. S. Lewis drank tea and smoked a pipe with Tolkien and the other Inklings. Even our Lord surrounded himself with twelve good friends that he walked with, talked with, ate with, laughed with, and cried with.

About Our Community Groups
When we live out our ordinary rhythms of life in a community of believers, we become transformed and look more like Jesus. Our community groups put teaching into practice that grows through the power of the Holy Spirit. Members take time each week to meet together, pray together, eat together and learn together. Many participants would say that some of their closest friends in the church have come through being involved in a community group.
We have a wide variety of groups available. Many meet seasonally, and others meet throughout the year. Some meet in homes, others at the church. New groups are often starting; others have been meeting for decades. Each spring our groups read through the church’s annual Lent Guide together. At other times of the year, they might study a book of the Bible or a devotional guide or follow along with the current sermon series.
Most of our groups take a break from regular meetings in December and January. In February, current groups reconvene, and new groups form to study Gerrit’s annual Lent guide. If you’re interested in joining a group or leading a new one, contact Blake Fowler (blake@fpcbr.org).
