Discipleship

Discipleship

At First, we have adopted a mission statement that says we want to take people, “Deeper in Christ and Further into the World.”  In the discipleship department, we handle the, “Deeper in Christ,” part of that mission.  In each of our discipleship environments, we hope you are being taken deeper in Christ through the study of Scripture, the sharing of life, and the interaction with others.  We invite you to grow in Christ through the following discipleship programs:

Sunday School: Every Sunday morning at 10:10 am (and one class at 8:45 am), we offer a teaching time with a number of classes for you to choose.  Many classes are organized by lifestages, such as Young Adults and the Crossroads Class.  Other classes are organized around content and teaching material, such as the Lecture Class and the Bible Survery Class.  In all of our classes, we hope you will find strong, Biblical teaching, warm relationships, and a healthy space to ask questions.

Home Groups:  Home groups are more intimate environments consisting of 6-12 people studying the scripture, praying for one another, and living out community.  Our home groups meet throughout the year, with entry points available at the beginning of each semester.  Please check out our next home group sign up in September.

The Deeper in Christ Series: The series offers a chance for you to hear from world-renowned scholars and best-selling authors on areas such as theology, Bible, and culture.  These opportunities exist throughout the year but do not run on a weekly basis.  Check out our upcoming speaker, Lois Tverberg, for more information on the Deeper in Christ Series.
