Nurturing Women as They Grow Deeper in Christ

The mission of First Presbyterian Church Women’s Ministry is to nurture women as they grow deeper in Christ and further into the world through studying God’s Word, partnering in prayer, cultivating meaningful relationships and gathering in intentional life-on-life fellowship. Our prayer is that every woman feels poured into, supported and has a place and a purpose in our church body as we encourage each other as ambassadors of the gospel.

Women’s Bible Study

Women’s Bible studies meet weekly in the fall and spring semesters and for a special summer study during the month of July.

2026 Spring Study – Nehemiah

What do you do when everything seems unfinished? When familiar structures are changing? When the future feels uncertain? The book of Nehemiah meets us precisely in a moment like this.

In 586 BC, Jerusalem lay in ruins – its walls broken down, its people scattered, and its identity as God’s dwelling place fractured. Over time, God restored his people in stages. He first raised up Ezra to renew worship and recenter the people on his Word. Years later, he raised up Nehemiah to rebuild the walls of the city. Yet Nehemiah’s work was never just about construction. The walls mattered, but the deeper work was spiritual renewal – shaping a community marked by persistent prayer and an unwavering devotion to his Word – so that his glory might again shine to the nations.

As our church enters a season of renovation and pastoral transition, Nehemiah reminds us that seasons of change are seasons of opportunity – moments when God invites us to deepen our dependance on him and faithfully steward the work he has entrusted to us.

Join us this spring as we walk through Nehemiah together and remember how God is always at work building his Church, calling his people in every generation, to reflect his glory to a watching world.

Bible studies kick off the week of January 14.

Join us at one of our three weekly offerings. May we feel a renewed sense of responsibility and confidence to fight the good fight of faith.

2024-2025 Circle Study: Elizabeth. Mary. Martha. Lydia. Priscilla.

These were not passive figures on the sidelines of God’s story. The women of the New Testament played vital roles in Jesus’ ministry. They were some of his most faithful followers, and they helped lead the early church. They faced fear, shame, rejection, illness, grief, and oppression—yet responded with faith, courage, and devotion. They often grasped truths about Jesus that others overlooked.

Elizabeth teaches us to trust God’s faithfulness and rejoice in his timing. Martha reminds us that while service is valuable, it must flow from a heart centered on Christ. Women like Herodias and Sapphira serve as warnings against bitterness and deceit.

Join one of our Women’s Ministry Circles this year as we journey through the LifeGuide® Bible Study Women of the New Testament by Phyllis J. Le Peau.

Together we’ll step into the lives and stories of twelve remarkable women and discover what it means to be a faithful disciple of Jesus.
