Help recreate a treasured part of First Presbyterian’s history! As we celebrate 200 years of God’s faithfulness, join us in making Legacy Chrismons for the church to keep and enjoy for generations to come.
Chrismon combines Christ + Monogram. These white and gold ornaments feature symbols of Christ, such as a cross, fish, dove, or crown.
Years ago, church members made Chrismons to decorate trees in our Sanctuary. We recently rediscovered their patterns in the church archives. Now we’re recreating these meaningful symbols, drawing on those original patterns and symbols in our Sanctuary windows to carry this tradition into the future.
No crafting experience is needed! We’ll provide pre-cut white felt symbols, self-adhesive gold rhinestones, and other gold embellishments to attach with glue guns. If you enjoy sewing, needlepoint, stained glass, or another craft, you’re welcome to use your skills to create a Chrismon. Finished ornaments should be lightweight, white and gold, and 3.5–5 inches.
Join us for lunch, fellowship, and creating together! Please sign up so we can plan for lunch and prepare materials for everyone attending.
