Barry Phillips

Joining our staff as Ministry Executive in 2005 right before Hurricane Katrina, Barry is responsible for the administration and direction of the budget and finance, payroll, campus care, facilities and media, church calendar, overall church program and personnel. He participates in our preaching rotation, leads men’s groups and teaches Sunday school. Barry earned his BA (English/History) and MA (Admin./Psychology) from the University of Alabama where he was a scholarship athlete. He has been on staff at the University of Missouri-Kansas City, The University of Texas- Austin, and held various management positions in the wireless industry before being called to First. He has been married to Becky for over 45 years. They have two grown daughters; Katy, who resides in North Carolina, and Molly, an artist who lives in Baton Rouge.
